Bourbon Offshore Norway (BON) has acquired 50 % of the shares of the ship owning company from Oceanteam Power & Umbilical ASA. Once delivered from the yard, BON will manage the vessel from Mjølstadneset.

Earlier this week the two companies entered into a commercial agreement allowing OPU to market its services through the worldwide BOURBON network and giving the company access to the wide range of specialised offshore support vessels owned and operated by BOURBON world wide.

The 50/50 owned companies will be renamed Oceanteam Bourbon KS and Oceanteam Bourbon AS in due course. The vessel will be renamed “Bourbon Oceanteam 101”.

The new build vessel currently under construction in Vigo, Spain will be 123 meters long and 27 meters wide, has 2000 m² of free deck, a deadweight of 7 000 tonnes, 2 x 100 tonnes heave compensated cranes installed and accommodation for 120 people.

BOURBON, through its subsidiary SONASURF, and Oceanteam have recently been awarded a long term field support vessel contract with BP Angola for its Greater Plutonio development in Block 18.
