Long- term contracts with BP Norge for two Ulstein PX105s

Bourbon Offshore Norway's major focus on safety and innovation has resulted in a contract award from British Petroleum Norge (BP) on two platform supply vessels (PSVs) for respectively 10 and 5 years, with an optional 3 years on both vessels. The revolutionary Ulstein PX105s from Ulstein Yard, who will operate the contracts, are to be delivered in October 2006 and February 2007.

The start-up for the 10 years- contract is set for November 2005. Until delivery of the last Ulstein PX105, Bourbon Peridot will operate as a “front- runner”. The 5 years- contract commencing November 2006 will entirely be operated by the first Ulstein PX105.

Managing Director in BON, Trond Myklebust, is pleased with the contract and says in a comment; “We were sure many would be interested in these two innovative vessels. That is why we choose to build them on speculations. It is good to see that the market also values safety, design and innovation and we are proud BP recognized BON’s qualities in competition with other suppliers.”

Olav Fjellså, Director of Information in BP Norge, confirms that safety and environmental factors were decisive in the contract award. Known for its high standards on these issues and BP’s global presence, the contract serves a considerable strategic role for BON in the future years.
